Why I Am Giving Up Social Media: A tool to heal the mind, soul, and relationships.

Giving up phone and putting it in a box to help improve relationships and marriage.

Over the past few months, I’ve been paying closer attention to my digital life and how I spend my time. What I’ve found is that certain platforms are consuming my energy and attention, but not giving much in return. They haven’t led to meaningful results, deeper creativity, or healthier relationships.

New Year, New Hope: Goal Setting for a Stronger Marriage

New Year, New Hope: Goal Setting for a Stronger Marriage

January is a perfect time to reflect on the past year and reassess your goals for the year ahead as a couple. Some years are filled with joy and ease, while others require persistence and growth through challenges. Regardless of the season, as Christians, we have the ability to overcome habits and actions that no longer serve us and embrace new behaviors that lead to a flourishing relationship.

Strengthen Yourself: The Power of Community

The Power of Community

As human beings, we’re naturally drawn to connect with others. We crave relationships that bring us joy, support, and strength. But while connection can be fulfilling, it can also expose us to misunderstandings and moments of hurt. Life often presents us with difficult moments when we feel isolated and vulnerable, and it’s in these times that the power of community can step in, providing us with comfort, understanding, and a safe space to begin the healing process.

3 Laws to Have Healthy Boundaries in Marriage

Have you ever heard of anyone talking about needing boundaries? Maybe you’ve heard of boundaries when it refers to not wanting to let someone or something continue to negatively affect you. Have you also heard of needing boundaries in your marriage or relationship? Not sure you need boundaries? The Bible says that “two shall become one flesh.” This can be confusing. How can setting limits and boundaries in our relationships be a good thing, especially when it comes to committed, put a ring on it, relationships?

Managing Emotions: Where do I start?

Different faces representing emotions, with title "Managing Emotions."

Emotions can be complex.  They can take us on a ride we don’t want to be on sometimes.  The ups and downs can be exhausting and confusing. Some of us stuff our emotions so deeply that we don’t even recognize their signals or significance anymore. Maybe our past experiences with family, friends, or even church have led us here.  Understanding and untangling our emotions takes both time and lots of effort.

Depression: What is it?

Depression

Have you ever woken up and felt terrible? You didn’t want to get out of bed? Or, have you ever just felt angry or agitated for something that did not seem like that big of a deal later? Depression is confusing! Sometimes you don’t know why you feel so bad. You certainly are not sure how to snap out of it! The DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual V) was created to help counselors, psychologists, doctors, and psychiatrists to have a standardized method of defining depression.
